“There’s nothing quite like the feeling when you’re listening to a song written by someone you don’t know or you’ve never met but you somehow manages to describe how much you felt a particular moment in your life.”
That was how the host (sorry, I don’t know his name) described Adele during the 54th Annual Grammys 2012 last February 12 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Every time I hear people say they don’t like Adele just because she’s “fat”, I feel like punching the person who said it. This is music industry. Artists don’t perform or sing just because they have handsome/pretty faces, nice bodies and the likes. Singers are singers because they have marvelous voices and Adele sure do has one. She’s like the Amy Winehouse or Whitney Houston of today. Let’s not be biased by looks or other physical attributes.
And because she’s my idol, my Facebook profile picture is black and white. Heehee. Black and white photos are like Adele’s legend, right?
Anyways, back at the Grammys. I know there are a lot of artists but no matter how much prejudiced this may sound, Adele owned the night. She performed two songs. First is my all-time fave, Someone Like You ♥ Good thing it’s the concert/live version!
And of course, the song that introduced her to the masses, Rolling in the Deep. This version is so AWESOME!
Adele won six awards:
- 21 -Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album
- Rolling in the Deep – Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Short Form Music Video
- Someone Like You– Best Pop Solo Performance
